I think I can safely say that I never, never, never ever ever want to create a thesaurus ever again. Though part of me did wonder how one would make a fannish thesaurus. For about five seconds. I might try and do Dynamis again in FFXI. My motivation is completely selfish: the drop rates for Artifact gear have improved a lot with the last update -- so much so, that I'm sure the developers will return it them to their original, sucky rates with the next patch. I mean, 17 pieces on a single Beaucedine run? When sometimes the drop rate for that run would be 0? Holy crap. Current Mood:

I'm tinkering with my layout, so it'll look just plain fugly for a while. Just in case, you know, you were wondering why I generated such messed up CSS overrides.

So. Firstly.
My Power Rangers fic is finished. Stop snickering. Linkage. It's already been shoved to page I really am happy with it. I think it's one of the best things I've written yet. I should get back to Crossroads. >.> I'm having a hectic couple of weeks. Applied for a job, didn't get job, then did get job, then cats got sick over and over and over and over (it's ongoing, and always something different), so I'm sad and worried about my zoo, and my wallet is empty. So I'm quite burned out from all that. All I've done this week is mess around with a possible LJ layout. I watched the Kiera Knightly version of Pride and Prejudice this week. I hate romance movies. I loved this one. I think I'll buy it at some point in the future. And have I mentioned today why I love Canada? Those are my cool links for the day. Go CRTC, go! It's been three months since I've migrated to Insanejournal, and I've been thinking for roughly a month about what I want to do with this journal. I don't want to stop blogging, and I'll definitely continue with random notes about what's going on in my life, but I wanted to do something a little structured. So here's what I'm thinking of including in all of my posts so that they have some sort of uniform format: ( Newness ) ( Cool Link ) ( Writing ) I hope everyone who reads is doing well. ^^ I'm still lurkin in ur journelz, reedin ur posts omg! ( Whereas I prove that I have psychic powers. Sort of. ) On a related note, my main resolution for the near future is to be more disciplined when it comes to writing. I think I'm pretty decent and could improve a lot if I put my mind to it, but suffer from a complete lack of writing discipline. I don't write every day. I usually don't write for months. I want to change that. Current Mood:

If you play an MMO like FFXI, WoW, MxO, whatever, please pay attention! For the past two weeks, FFXI accounts are being stolen at an unprecedented rate. While SE has remained silent about warning us or assisting, the community has isolated the problem. MMO players of all games should pay attention, as this trojan is not native only to FFXI. I heard some rumors that it was created as a WoW keylogger, and pretty much confirmed it. It's a threat to all of us. Players are being infected with a Trojan that keylogs your password, transmits this information to a third party, who then exploits it to get at your character and items. The character(s) is/are stripped via trades to a third party mule, who then sells the items via bazaar or auction house. The player's character is then transferred to another server and sometimes renamed. Some characters are then abandoned. Some are turned into RMT bots for farming, hunting, or PLing. So far, the only confirmed virus scanner that will pick it up is the paid version of AVG. Get informed. Learn what to look for, and protect your computer! For the moment, people seem to be agreeing that the FFXI culprit is either:
I assume that similar sites for other MMOs are the source of the virus for them. Current Mood:

: Merry Wankmas!
Welcome, everyone, to my brand spanking IJ! I've migrated from Livejournal for issues that, by now, are probably well known to my friendslist. Rather than comment on that drama, I thought something a little more mind-boggling would be entertaining. What would you do if you were unhappy with the way your local town government was behaving? Write a letter to the mayor? Attend council and get active? Yea, so would I. But in my town? Someone came up with a *better* plan. And by better, I mean wanky. They did what anyone does in such situations: hastily make a website to bitch on about how the town sucks, the mayor killed their puppy, and all that jazz! And leave unmoderated comments enabled. And, since this site was created by a bunch of conscientious adults over several weeks, it is of course so disorganised and badly coded that you can see the internal structure of the server computer through the HTML source. You know, like a form rule that says "log this shit to [insert computer drive's file path here]!" O_O I pointed that last fact out, bluntly. I admit I also used an innocuous cat macro to point out the dangers of not suppressing HTML in the form fields. So yea, I wanked. *hangs head in shame* My post is the only one that's been deleted.
