It's been three months since I've migrated to Insanejournal, and I've been thinking for roughly a month about what I want to do with this journal. I don't want to stop blogging, and I'll definitely continue with random notes about what's going on in my life, but I wanted to do something a little structured. So here's what I'm thinking of including in all of my posts so that they have some sort of uniform format:

Newness

Let's see, what's new with me. Um, I'm buried under 6 feet of snow which is starting to melt and seep into my home's foundation. I'm still doing library studies and I've started the summer job hunt. My dog is still the cutest dog in the world, and there will still be no disputing this.

Online, I am cheering on the folks still at LiveJournal, who are holding a Content Strike this Friday. I really do hope it generates some results. I've technically already joined it I guess since I abandoned my LJ, but just for my own amusement, I took the time to add an icon to the account so that I can continue to emphasize my status as a freeloading Basic user.

Anonymous is still cool. The Harry Potter vs. RDR Books case still kills me with laughter. I'm still looking forward to the ReBoot Comic publication and news on the new ReBoot movies with anticipation you can only find from a devoted fan.

I want to include a fun photo with all of my posts from now on, but I have to get my camera back from my mother first.

There's something about this music video about Normal People that kills me. Probably the profanity. And I know where it was filmed, which also amuses me. Beware of some profanity!

United Nations Data

Have you ever seen those big, fat books in your library's reference section called Statistical Yearbook of the United Nations or Demographic Yearbook of the United Nations? They have all sorts of nifty figures and stats about demographics, agriculture, education, refugees, and, well, all that sort of stuff that the United Nations collects data on. They're quite useful if you need some quick, hard facts about some country or other for academic projects or creative writing.

Anyhoo, it's being compiled all and released on the Web for free use, which means that you probably won't see those books in the reference section anymore. I haven't tried a search yet, so I don't know how good the indexing is, but that would probably only bother librarian types like me.

Writing

There are no updates for Crossroads.

No, really. I haven't penned a single word for it in over a month.

Instead, I started working on a Power Rangers fic.

Yes, I can hear someone giggling at my absurdity. Shut up. It's going to be awesome.

I realized the other day that the 10-year anniversary of Power Rangers in Space is here. PRiS is tied with the original series as my favourite Power Rangers season, and I've always wanted to write a PRiS fic but was too afraid to be classed as an ubergeek.

But now I've stopped caring because I've decided that it will be awesome. It's going to be about Andros.

Let's see if I can pull off a first draft in a reasonable amount of time. I've done the outline and about a third of the story so far in a very rough (and sometimes crummy) form. :3
